Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

What We Do
Christ's Kin provides original praise and worship music along with testimonies of redemption through God's mercy and grace. We are available for concerts and youth rallies. We bring life and excitement every where we go. We offer hope and guidance based on our real-life experiences.

Our Mission
To help others who are willing to help themselves. To give Hope to the hopeless and new life to those in need.
Our mission at Christ's Kin is to provide the means to help people rebound from life’s struggles. We are dedicated to assisting people in recovering from poor choices made along the way.
Some people have given up, or recently been released from incarceration. They need our help! By helping them regain a semblance of life, we will make our communities better places to live.
First Steps
We are currently providing shoes for released offenders at Livesay Correctional in Spartanburg, SC. We are growing this ministry to provide all ex-offenders with a new pair of athletic shoes. Let us know if you would like to be involved.
We will show them the love of Christ and give them hope for a future. When they reach out to us we teach them how to live a life Worthy of God’s calling.
We will show them how to be productive members of society and we will give them real help so that they can live life abundantly.

Growing up in a faith filled home where Jesus was taught and values were instilled, I asked Jesus into my heart at an early age. But, as I grew up, I started making small choices in life that did not line up with the values that I was taught.
Ultimately, I started using drugs and later became a drug dealer. For 18 years, I bounced around doing whatever I wanted to do. But when I was finally arrested for the last time and sentenced to 12 years in the Department of corrections, Jesus got a hold of my heart. He reminded me that he still loves me and that he has a plan for my life. I can’t wait to share with you the story of my redemption.
I’m committed to helping those in active addiction get clean and teaching them how to live a life worthy of Jesus’ calling. I’m dedicated to teaching the teenagers how to not make the same mistakes that I made. It’s important for me to share my story in hopes that lives will be changed and ultimately ask Jesus into their hearts. Because that is where our true happiness is found.

My name is Justin Blanton. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol for 20 years of my life. A large portion of my adult life I've spent in Jail and Prison.
I had no direction or hope until the day I met Jesus and surrendered my life to him. Since then I've been made free from addiction and the cycle of incarceration.
I have devoted my life to teaching people where they find freedom from addiction and hope for their future. It's in our Lord Jesus Christ. All honor, glory, and praise be unto Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I am blessed to have always been associated with a Christian family. Raised in the church and by parents who believed in discipline, I credit them with instilling in me the fear (respect?) of wandering too far from God’s path. By no means have I, or my life, been perfect. Sin is in our nature; we cannot avoid sinning. However, throughout any struggles I had to deal with, God was there. I have two daughters and 5 granddaughters, for whom I hope to be a good example.
For most of my career, I was a financial advisor, which I also viewed as a ministry. I am self-taught in terms of playing the guitar and have enjoyed music since I was young. For over 35 years, I have been a part of praise and worship in church, sometimes leading the effort. Over a decade ago, it seems the Lord put some scripture in my path, Matthew, Chapter 25. Was I doing all God would have me do? Especially in tending to the hungry, homeless, sick, depressed, and incarcerated. Of course, the answer was a resounding “NO”. My wonderful wife, Carmon, has a tremendous heart for helping those who are less fortunate and has helped me grow in this regard. It’s no surprise that God brought some opportunities to us to help some specific homeless and hungry individuals who blessed our lives.
An invitation to participate in prison ministry was offered to me. I accepted, and my life has been changed. I believe the incarcerated especially need to know they are loved and are not considered permanently lost. It has blessed me more than the inmates to share the Word, music, and fellowship in the prisons. That’s exactly how I met John Frady and Justin Blanton, two of my dearest friends.
We shared praise and worship music in the prison on many occasions. In 2023, they came out of prison with a vision to help others who have been through what they’ve been through, and to educate younger people to prevent them from making the mistakes that may also put them there. It is my honor and privilege to serve God by helping these men bring their vision to reality as Christ’s Kin.
